Building Security & Site Safety
Building Security:
Security Personnel are onsite 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Security Team are supported by comprehensive closed-circuit television surveillance at key locations throughout the building, along with a sophisticated access control system.
Regular patrols and inspections are carried at random times throughout the business day. All common areas and multi-tenant floors are patrolled periodically after business hours. If an issue arises Tenant representatives will be contacted if necessary.
The Security Team member on patrol will also ensure that fire doors are secured, unwanted visitors are not present, and doors are locked where required. Tenants are responsible for ensuring that all entry doors to the building are locked when exiting after hours.
While the building’s security systems provide basic protection, security is everyone’s responsibility. Your cooperation and vigilance are essential.
If you require additional checks of your premises, please contact the Security Team noting that a fee for this service may be charged to the Tenant.
Each Tenant can help prevent the loss of valuable personal and company property by observing the following guidelines:
- Be aware of unfamiliar persons in your area. If their identity cannot be confirmed, notify Security immediately.
- Do not allow tailgating through doors or secure access points.
- Never share access cards.
- Ensure staff receive regular security awareness training.
- Avoid leaving valuables unattended or in open areas.
- At the end of each day, remove or secure valuable personal and company items, including laptops and mobile phones.
- Report lost property or suspicious activity to Security promptly.
- Keep records of serial numbers for valuable items to assist with recovery.
- Always ensure your suite is secure.
- Strictly control keys and access cards. Notify Security immediately if a card is lost or an employee leaves your organisation.
- Remain vigilant during busy periods when staff and visitors are moving throughout the building and work areas may be unattended.
Evacuation Procedures
Emergencies:
If you are aware of a risk or a danger (such as a fire or a riot) within or in proximity to the property, emergency services should be contacted immediately by telephoning (000). Once emergency services have been notified, Building Management should also be notified as soon as is reasonably practicable. Without endangering yourself, ensure that you are alerting those staff within the affected area of the risk/ danger to ensure that they move away/ avoid the risk.
Please obey the instructions of the Police, the Fire Brigade or other emergency authority, this may include leaving the premises. Please do not re-enter the building unless Building Management, the Police, the Fire Brigade or other appropriate authority advises it is safe to do so.
Evacuation Training & Procedures:
Emergency evacuation training is conducted online on a quarterly basis. It is strongly recommended that all tenants complete the training at commencement of tenure. Annual evacuation drills are conducted and participation is mandatory for all tenants. The primary muster point is located at the grassed area adjacent to the Perth Convention Centre.
Tenants are responsible for ensuring their warden list is kept updated and current at all times. The buildings are equipped with a Taktis fire protection system, and each floor is protected by fire sprinklers and smoke detectors. All floors are fitted with fire extinguishers, and phones that connect directly to the EWIS(Emergency Warning and Intercom System).
